Madness by Aurore Muse 05/13/2025

This is an update to my previous book, "Madness'. When I previously published my book, it was about 38,000 words. I allowed my contract with Page Publishing to expire so I could look at what was needed in order to make my book a much better version, which is the version you'll read if you buy it today.

I enjoyed going back through and fleshing out my characters as well as the story they live, and this is just the beginning of my series I'm going to publish. This novel is roughly 141,000 words which is 463 pages long.

Should you read this book, you'll learn what anguish that Isabelle goes through, and the denial that she faces when she starts to catch feelings for a man she's sure is no good for her.

Orphaned two years ago, numb, and unable to fathom the death of her parents, Isabelle Rosewood is lost in grief. There is nothing she can do to feel better, and the comfort from everyone makes her crazy with frustration.

By chance, she meets a mysterious boy who seems to know more than he says, but before she can press as to how he knows her, he invites her to go on a journey, and then he’s gone.

When things go awry and they land in a new realm, he's taken away, and she’s left for dead. To make it to the Fortress in the interest of getting the answers she needs, she must accept help from an Elvish Captain out for revenge and the daringly handsome Bandit King. As determined to cling to what she knows, Isabelle can’t deny that even a numb heart beats for what it wants

05/19/2021 The Shade Chronicles Inspiratrion

My Shade Chronicles came to be as I continued to work on my Madness series. Even though I only have one book out right now, I have a few more in the works, and my biggest villain in it is Shade Sterling. When I first wrote Shade, it was in a completely different book sometime around when Madness was just a faint thought in my mind. He was the bad guy, and he never stopped being the bad guy once I created him. Then, as my writing evolved, he began to evolve as well. He wasn't just some villain I made up to push the story forward, he was the most evil villain who really could have destroyed the Wander Realm, but he was tortured. I was only planning to use him throughout my Wander Realm as this character to give all my heros an obstacle to overcome, but as his role became clearer in Madness, I began to feel like his story should be told. Shade is complex in my mind, and he does everything to protect what he loves, even if it may not seem like it. When I first created him, he and his brother, William Sterling had a grudge, and it only got more intense when I continued to write them in my world, but one question had to be answered. Why was their grudge so intense? That's when I made a side character that they both fell in love with. But Shade had gotten involved with some bad people and because they wanted his brother for his power, they crossed the line. This girl, Isabelle, died, and each brother blamed each other. This story is currently in the works with only two chapters out by this point in time, however I have three more chapters currently written and in editing. I will be posting on my social media each time I post a new chapter and you can find my Shade Chronicles on Wattpad under my user name MusedMadness2019. Though I don't want to say much more about what's to come of Shade and William's future, I will tell you that I believe these two are my best characters. William fights to hold on to the light, and Shade fights for the darkness that he can't seem to escape. I believe my character Shade will be the character that you love to hate. Wrapping this up, I want to give a shout out to all my fans and to all my supporters. I hope my books give you joy and that you can't put them down. There's more to come. Please check out my Shade Chronicles and let me know what you think! Happy reading!

How I came up with Madness is actually a little silly. It started maybe freshman or sophomore year in high school. My mom was on a date night with her husband, and so I was alone at home and I was surfing Netflix. I found a circus show on Netflix and I started watching it. The show displayed a woman who found a guy she cared for at a circus and he fell through to a different dimension and she went after him. It captured my attention. So I had a similar thought, but what if my main guy was kidnapped for a specific reason? There had to be something that an evil ruler could want that would warrant him to kidnap someone who otherwise wouldn't have made it through the night. So the Enhancer was born. But how would this innocent teenager meet this mysterious stranger? I originally wanted Isabelle and Sebastian to be a couple. So part one was an entire twenty-two chapters of a love story. After I lost most of the second book I wrote, I got thinking and decided that part one didn't need to drag on like that. So I scrapped everything I wrote and I began to start from scratch. And as I was writing, I found more chemistry between Isabelle and Vincent. From there, the story began to unfold and I knew her prime reasoning to get Sebastian back was because she needed him to get home. Even if he couldn't open a portal, he could at least contact someone who could. William was in my original copy too, but he was more of a bad guy right off the bat. He offered Isabelle to be his and warned her that she shouldn't turn him down, but when I rewrote their meeting, it wasn't at some fancy ball. Though when I introduced him, he was such a stiking character, but I decided to remake the meeting in a different way. The second first meeting, they were in the meadow and had such an instant attraction that it didn't make sense. My boyfriend and I had such long conversations about my story, and we came to the idea that maybe they met before, but not in reality. In a series of dreams. There were so many details that may have seemed rushed, but I was able to make them make sense in later bits of the story, which by this point isn't out yet. The last detail to talk about is how Vincent meets Isabelle. I truly forget how I had them meet to begin with. I remember that Vincent still kidnapped Isabelle, and I decided to present that in a new way. The first meeting of Vincent and Isabelle, I wanted him to be bold. You don't become a leader of bandits by playing it safe. So bold he was, and of course, we're talking about more of soulmates then just being in love with the idea of love with someone you deem attractive. In this case, Isabelle felt such a soul-deep connection to him. I have more stories coming, including continuations of Isabelle's journey to her destiny that her parents described, all of which I talk at length with my boyfriend. My story Madness will forever be the closest story to my heart, and Isabelle and Vincent's story will forever be the closest love story to my heart that I'll ever write. Wrapping up this part of the story, I want to give a shout out to my boyfriend who continues to talk to me at length about my stories and helps me to expand on them and improve them. He's the reason my writing is as it is today, and I can't thank him enough for asking me the hard questions that I needed to know before pushing out my story.
